Who is this guy?

Hi and thanks for stopping by!

My name is Owen (ru. Shenja) and I’m a German-Russian musician, teacher and songwriter/composer truly passionate about music, no matter what style.
I highly enjoy music that is tasteful, groovy, melodic and soulful.

I’ve studied at the conservatories of the HKU Utrecht & InHolland Haarlem (Netherlands) and at the conservatori del Liceu – Barcelona (Spain) where I followed an Erasmus program and graduated in Jazz&Pop Guitar. During that time I learned from great musicians like Eef Albers, Arie Storm, Tim Langelijk, Dani Pérez, Jordi Bonell, Llibert Fortuny, Gary Willis and many more whom I’m very thankful for the knowledge I’ve acquired. Before and during my studies I spent over ten years on teaching guitar to students of all ages and successfully prepared some of them for their conservatory entrance exams.

Currently I’m working as a guitar teacher, playing in various music projects, focusing on profound playing and writing music for my first album.
I’m also a studied computer scientist looking out for innovation in music and music education. Meanwhile I’m developing an educational App with a team in Germany that will be online in spring 2016.

Coming from two extremely different cultures – born in Kazakhstan and raised in Germany – I quickly understood that the world has much more to discover than only one country could offer. That’s why one of my intentions is to connect and work with different cultures, no matter what race or color. I speak English, Russian, German, Dutch and Spanish and I’m eager to learn more.

This website was created in order to serve as a portfolio and as a starting point for helping my music students, guitarists, songwriters & composers in learning their instrument, whether it is about understanding, playing, hearing, reading, writing, creating, recording, editing, mixing or producing music. Take a look around and feel free to contact me with any kind of question.

Stay tuned!
